Looking for an exceptional restaurant in Mougins? Le Petit Fouet is the place to be! In the heart of the old village of Mougins which dominates the panorama of the bay of Cannes, the Lérins Islands, Grasse and the neighboring perched villages, it is impossible to miss this institution.
We have tested (and approved!) this restaurant many times. It is part of our “canteens” at Prestigia!
Delicious dishes in an authentic place
After having worked there for several years, it was in 2017 that Yves and Bastien became the owners of the restaurant “Le Petit Fouet”. It is in all simplicity and authenticity that they offer you family cuisine but also more elaborate dishes. And all homemade, of course.
This duo of passionate partners distributes the tasks wonderfully. Yves 61 years old, owner of a bakery-pastry-caterer in Nice for almost 12 years then of the restaurant L’Écluse in Pégomas is the chef of the restaurant. He is assisted by Sandra is second.
Bastien, 31, meanwhile, who has worked for prestigious brands such as the restaurant “Le Festival” on the Croisette, takes care of the service. And he is accompanied by the smiling and pleasant Julia.
A veritable gold nugget from Mougins, the restaurant is distinguished by its atypical decoration, a cool bistro atmosphere, without “fuss”. “Le Petit Fouet” is a warm place where we like to meet to drink tea or enjoy a good meal with family or friends. But the restaurant is also a place where local professionals meet for lunch.
From breakfast to dinner, including snack times !
Yes, because this is also where the restaurant makes the difference, Le Petit Fouet is open non-stop and offers you: breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Enough to thrill your taste buds whatever the time!
As for breakfast, sweet or salted, the choice is vast and all à la carte.
At tea time, homemade hot drinks, accompanied by gourmet sweets for a comforting break.
As for lunch and dinner, there is no menu strictly speaking, but a slate on which traditional main dishes and current suggestions come together. Because the products here are fresh and seasonal!
Locals products above all
You can also leave with local products, the restaurant making the surrounding businesses work. Beer brewed in Pont du Loup or honey and olive oil from Tanneron are on offer.
Regarding the restaurant’s clientele, it is 80% foreign, but people come and come back to the restaurant “Le Petit Fouet”. Yves and Bastien estimate that 50% of their customers are regulars.
Like everyone else, the restaurant has suffered from these last two pandemics but has not been defeated.
Take-out and delivery on a wide area on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The customers of the restaurant “Le Petit Fouet” had the chance to continue to savor their favorite dishes. With an average of 150 menus each weekend, Yves and Bastien were able to count on the support of their loyal customers.
In summary, we strongly advise you to go and try “Le Petit Fouet”, this exceptional, authentic and friendly restaurant where the service is of quality and the dishes are gourmet. Remember to book !
