Opportunity for French buyers this winter

The recent announcement by French President, Emmanuel Macron, about new covid-19 restrictions in major cities across France brought some unwanted news to the country ahead of the winter season, in addition to the existing travel restrictions across Europe.

With less international buyers able to travel at this time, it has left open an opportunity for French buyers to travel to the region in search of a property on the French Riviera.

At Prestigia 360, our consultants have seen an increased demand from French buyers looking to escape populated urban areas, in favour of the sunshine and security of the French Riviera, in search of suburban properties with more outdoor space and the possibility to enjoy the privacy and security of their own gardens.

In addition, 2020 has seen a huge increase in the number of people working from home, which has further led to an increased demand from urban residents wanting to escape the traffic, pollution and chaos of big cities and purchase new primary residences in the French Riviera, where sunshine, fresh air and space are abundant.

The confinement regulations this year have really put a spotlight on our homes and prompted many people to seek properties which offer greater outdoor space and seclusion, in addition, existing homeowners have been encouraged to focus on home improvements which boost their sense of safety and security.

With this in mind, we encourage all buyers to reach out to our consultants during this unique time which offers an opportunity to secure your dream property under less competitive conditions than in previous years. In addition, there is an opportunity for homeowners with this increased demand of local buyers who will be searching for a new primary residence in the sun this winter.
